David Agnew is currently the Director of Advanced Engineering for Hyundai-Mobis North America, responsible for building and directing a new regional engineering team (located in Plymouth, MI) for supporting Mobis’ autonomous vehicle technology research & development already underway in South Korea and Germany.
Mr. Agnew previously held the position of Regional R&D Strategy for Continental Automotive, developing strategic research partnerships and aligning Continental’s future technology strategy with regional needs and governance trends. While at Conti, Mr. Agnew also led the start-up of their regional Advanced Engineering group for development of new ADAS and autonomous technologies.
Prior to working in the auto industry, he spent several years in defense-aerospace working on development of new fly-by-wire control systems (thrust vectoring) at AlliedSignal Aerospace and by-wire jet engine fuel controls at Moog Inc.
Mr. Agnew is a member of the Board of Directors for AUVSI. He serves as a member of the Advisory Board for the School of Engineering & Computer Science at Oakland University in Rochester, MI. David volunteers annually as a design judge for the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (igvc.org).
He earned his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
